Belinda Morrow, 2M’s president, was one of the first 100 people in the nation to receive the U.S. Green Building Council LEED™ accredited professional designation and is LEED legacy. Ms. Morrow has over 35 years of experience designing and managing construction projects for large corporations, federal and local governments; and is recognized in the industry for tackling projects with comprehensive work scopes and completing them on time and within budget. Ms. Morrow was responsible for the design and construction oversight of Fulton County Government’s first LEED certified building and the State of Georgia’s first LEED Silver Public Library, the East Atlanta Library, and for the U.S. Department of Defense’s first LEED Gold residence; and other LEED certified military construction projects.
2M champions and documents the creation of green jobs on capital projects . 2M’s principals are certified in GPRO, a national training and certificate program developed by Urban Green Council, USGBC New York Chapter, teaching low-wealth residents to build, renovate and maintain building using principles of sustainability. Through its KEEP PACE™ Green Jobs Program 2M links GPRO badging with trade-specific green construction knowledge allowing residents to become certified, take a seat at the economic development table, and realize their vision of performing LOCAL green jobs in their region of the U.S.
2M’s KEEP PACE™ Green Jobs Program is a system through which low-wealth residents receive green jobs training, certification and placement on public and private capital projects. Local residents who want to learn a green trade and earn a “green certification” can be recruited and screened by area Office of Workforce Development Departments, trained using GPRO, then be given an opportunity to work on local LEED capital projects. 2M has nurtured successful end user relationships in the green industry through our history of building LEED and high performance buildings for local government, the Army Corp of Engineers, and our association with companies like U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Urban Green Council in New York.
